COMMENTS: The three children of Frederich and Sophie Louise Bunte Thumann were placed in an orphanage after the death of their mother until Frederich and Anna Schmand were married in 1880 in Germany. Frederich immigrated alone in 1882, landing in Galveston. When he saved enough money, he sent for Anna and the four children. They arrived in 1883. Friederich was a farmer. He received his final naturalization papers on 7 Mar 1892 in Colorado Co., TX. Both Anna and Friederich were Lutheran.===============================================================
