COMMENTS: Fritz BERTHOLD came to Colorado County with his father and
step-mother in 1850. They sailed from Germany on the Brig Herschel in
November of 1849 and landed at Galveston, Texas in January of 1850. His age
in the 1850 census is listed as 19. However in the 1870 census he claims to
be 44. Annie EHWEINER came to Texas with her parents in 1857, according to
her brother's obituary.
